Hioki IR5051 Solar / EV Insulation Tester
The IR5051 is Hioki's specialised insulation tester for solar PV systems, EV charging infrastructure and high-voltage electrical equipment. Standard insulation testers with earthed measurement circuits cannot be used safely on ungrounded PV arrays — the IR5051 is specifically designed to test PV strings and arrays without an earth reference, making it the essential tool for solar O&M teams across India.

Advanced Insulation Diagnostics

Why Standard Insulation Testers Cannot Test PV Systems
Conventional insulation testers apply test voltage between the conductor and earth. PV systems are ungrounded — there is no fixed earth reference.
