Description / Overview
Hioki CM3286-50 AC Clamp Power Meter
The CM3286-50 measures electrical power directly on live conductors without interrupting the circuit, by combining clamp current measurement with voltage measurement via test leads. From these it calculates active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor and phase angle — giving a realistic assessment of the electrical load, not just an estimate from voltage and current alone. It handles both single-phase and three-phase circuits, and detects phase sequence on live lines.
Key Features
- AC voltage measurement 80.0V to 600.0V (via test leads), True RMS
- AC current measurement 0.060A to 600.0A (via Φ46mm clamp), 3 ranges, True RMS
- Power range: single-phase 0.005kW to 360.0kW; three-phase 3-wire 0.020kW to 623.5kW; three-phase 4-wire 0.040kW to 1080kW
- Measures active, reactive and apparent power, power factor, phase angle, frequency, and simple active energy consumption (single-phase)
- Three-phase measurement: balanced circuits estimated from a single measurement; unbalanced 3-wire circuits measured via two sequential single-phase measurements combined automatically, 4-wire circuits via three measurements
- Phase sequence detection on live lines
- Voltage/current harmonic analysis, 1st to 30th order, with the optional Z3210 Wireless Adapter installed
- Bluetooth wireless via the optional Z3210 adapter — transfer readings to the free GENNECT Cross app on your phone or tablet, with field photos and reports
- Auto-hold: beeps and automatically holds the display when a stable reading is detected — useful when the display is hard to see or reach
- Overcurrent/overvoltage alert — red backlight and beep warn of excessive input before it causes damage
- CAT IV 600V / CAT III 1000V safety rating
- Compact handheld design, 65 x 241 x 35mm, 450g
Applications
Energy audits and power quality checks in industrial, commercial and residential installations; verifying motor and equipment power draw against nameplate specs; checking for unbalanced three-phase loads; power factor and harmonic troubleshooting; and quick electricity-theft or miswiring checks without needing a fixed power analyzer installation.
